To support Christopher Newport University’s sustainability efforts, Auxiliary Services and CNU Dining have switched to the exclusive use of reusable Green2Go boxes. The sudden switch came as a surprise to the student body, many of whom were unhappy as a result of the false rumors being spread about the process. The Captain’s Log is dedicated to the pursuit of truth, and this article will provide step-by-step instructions on how to correctly check out the boxes.
First, you will need to download the app “Reuzzi” and create an account. This is the longest part of the process but only requires you to add your name and email address. Once you’ve created the account, you’ll receive an email asking you to verify your email.
Once you’re set up with the app, you can head over to the dining hall and have your app open and ready to scan.
After swiping into the dining hall, click the “Check Out” button on your app to scan the QR code on the individual box. There will be a 30-minute timer counting down the amount of time you have to fill your box and leave the dining hall. This timer is not really something to worry about, as there will be no one following you around to kick you out.
After your box is checked out, you are able to keep it checked out until you are ready to return it. However, there is a maximum of three boxes allowed to be checked out at the same time in a 72-hour period (once one of the three is returned, you can check out another).
To return your box, bring it back to either the dining hall (no matter which one you picked it up from) and click the “Return” button on your app. The app will first have you scan the dining hall’s QR code and then it will have you scan the individual QR code. If your box is returned within 48 hours of checkout, you will receive points from the app. These points can be exchanged for different prizes.
