Taylor Swift told her fans when she released Fifteen in 2008 “But in your life you’ll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team.” But now in 2023 she’s proving herself wrong. According to ESPN, Travis went to the Eras Tour in Kansas City where he tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it. At the time he didn’t clarify whether it was his phone number or jersey number. Although it is clear it must have been his phone number after Swift was spotted at the Chief’s game sitting next to his mom, Donna Kelce.
Swift’s home state team, the Philadelphia Eagles, lost to the Chiefs not long ago, and not by much. She showed there are no hard feelings by her elated reactions to Kelce scoring a touchdown, as she was decked out in red and white, sporting the team colors. On The Pat McAfee Show last week, Kelce said that he had invited Swift to one of his games, telling her “I’ve seen you rock a stage in Arrowhead and you might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead.” While Swift showing up to his game does not confirm they’re dating, it certainly excites both of their fans massively, throughout the world, making the internet buzz with speculation and hopefulness. Making everyone speculate even more, the NFL posted a video of Swift at the game captioning it, “They’re so happy!”
Many Swifties have been commenting on how they miss Joe Alwyn, Swift’s former boyfriend of six years, and posting old pictures, videos and edits of them on every social media app. Although I also miss the relationship they had together, I’m sure it doesn’t help Taylor start a possible new relationship and move on seeing these videos all over the internet. I personally believe that they broke up for a valid, heartbreaking reason, and that nobody misses him more than her. Although they broke up after six years, I really believe that it was mutual in the end and wasn’t messy. I, along with many Swifties, am overly excited to see where this relationship goes, as they both deal with giant amounts of fame in such different ways. Every famous person struggles with fame and especially fame combined with dating, which could make their relationship difficult but I think it could be very healthy and helpful to see how each other deals with it, and already knowing how to handle it on their own. As I said before, I could not be more excited about this possibility, and like so many other Swifties who continue to post their Twitter reactions to the game, seeing Taylor happy is really the most exciting for us.
