With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, the time has come for Starbucks to release their holiday menu. This year they brought back lots of old favorites in addition to new ones as well. Here is my official ranking of the holiday menu items and yes this list is going to be biased.
- Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte
This is probably considered a hot take, but this drink is just too sweet for me (both the hot and iced version). Though I give it extra points for the sprinkles on top, it’s still too much of a sugary drink for me to fully finish.
- Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai
I am not a huge fan of chai, so this drink was bound to be towards the bottom. However, the gingerbread flavor is wonderful and not too overpowering and the mixture of the tea blend, oatmilk, and gingerbread syrup all blend together well. My only complaint is that there’s a weird aftertaste, but that could be a result of the chai that I’m not used to.
- Peppermint Brownie Cake Pop
I’m a huge fan of Starbucks cake pops and this one is a great treat to have if you’re in a rush or just want something quick to eat. The chocolate mixed with the peppermint tastes amazing and definitely leaves you wanting more. My only wish is that the candy cane pieces were a bit smaller because sometimes it was hard to chew through them and they would get everywhere.
- Caramel Brûlée Latte
This is definitely my new favorite holiday drink. It’s the perfect mixture of sweet and savory but isn’t too bitter at the same time. The caramel also isn’t too overpowering, so if you’re not a huge fan of the syrup, this drink can still be for you. It’s perfect for a cold winter day.
- Gingerbread loaf
If you love gingerbread, and I don’t see why you wouldn’t, then you will love this pastry. It tastes delicious and puts you in the holiday spirit right away. There’s a perfect amount of icing on the top of the loaf and the ginger and cinnamon blend together to create an item you might easily order everytime you go to Starbucks.
- Peppermint Mocha
Is there any other correct answer? The peppermint mocha is the definition of a holiday drink and both the hot and iced versions are amazing. The drink truly makes you feel like you’re in a winter wonderland, and I personally wish it could be offered all year long. Even if it’s hot outside, you can still drink the iced peppermint mocha with the chocolate curls and it will still give you the same experience. Peppermint mocha for the win always.
