On Oct. 22, CNU hosted PLP Discovery speaker Lydia Taylor Davis, a pro-life spokesperson for the Students For Life organization. The speech was held in CNU’s David Student Union building, which was a part of her ‘Abortion is Violence’ tour.
Before the event, Davis was seen tabling and speaking with students outside of Trible Library.
During and following the speech, the Planned Parenthood GenAct club held a counterprotest. Protesters were encouraged to wear pink to show their support, but were reminded to be prepared for potential confrontations.
Abortion and women’s healthcare has been a continuingly prominent issue on the ballot every year. Similar protests and events have been had on CNU’s campus in the past. The Captain’s Log will have a more detailed analysis of the situation in the next issue of the paper.
