The 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, died on Dec. 29, 2025 at age 100.
Federal offices were closed and flags were flown at half mast as the nation mourned the loss of Carter. There was a funeral service held for Carter on Jan. 9 with notable attendance of former president Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and president-elect Donald Trump.
Joe Biden and many others delivered eulogies praising Carter’s work and career as a public servant.
Clips of the streamed funeral service found its way onto many social media feeds. Many of the political figures’ actions, such as Donald Trump and Barack Obama conversing before the service began, sparked speculation amongst constituents about political relations.
