Some of us have those days where we end up being on campus for most of the day. During this time, we are unable to run back to our dorm, not even for a minute without running late to our next event. Something that I found helpful for situations like this is to pack important things in your backpack that can get you through the day. Below, I have listed some very important items that you should be carrying in your backpack with you at all times.
- Tide Pen
Life gets messy and I promise you, you will end up spilling that chili on your white shirt. Save yourself the trouble and frustration by simply throwing a Tide Pen in your backpack. The Tide Pen has saved me from so many accidents that I practically have one in every bag of mine. It is super easy to use and each pen runs for about $3.99 at the store. The amount of uses you get out of this pen is also incredible, as you can probably use this about 20 times before it fully runs out.
- Cash
I’m one of those individuals that hates keeping their wallet in their backpack. I’m always afraid that someone is going to steal it out of my bag. Instead, I just carry some cash on me. This is always a good idea if you need to buy any snacks or something while on campus. That way, you are able to buy what you need but not have to worry about someone taking your entire wallet.
- Snacks
If you don’t want to be constantly buying overpriced snacks at the vending machines on campus, try throwing in a couple snacks from your backpack. This can be anything from a cereal bar to a bag of popcorn. Not only will this save you money in the long run, but you won’t have to wander around the academic building in search of a vending machine. You’ll also have snacks right at your disposal when you need them the most. Non-perishable goods are also great to store in your backpack, as they stay fresh for longer periods of time.
- Body Care Bag
A body care bag is one of the most important necessities for your backpack. This usually contains items such as deodorant, perfume, hairspray, hair ties, makeup wipes, mini makeup, etc. I find my body care bag to be so helpful when I’m on campus for longer periods of time because it helps me freshen up without having to make that painful walk back to my dorm.
- Bandaids
I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve wobbled around campus, blisters on both of my heels or when I would get a paper cut that wouldn’t stop bleeding. Bandaids are so important to have on you at all times because you never know what could happen while you are out. It’s also incredibly frustrating and embarrassing to walk around every front desk asking for a band aid. Throw a couple bandaids in your bag in a secure zipper pocket and you’ll have some no matter what happens.
- Refillable Water Bottle
If you do not already, I highly recommend having a refillable water bottle on your person. Refillable water bottles such as Yeti’s, Stanley’s and Owala’s are amazing at keeping your water cold and are very easy to travel with. Not to mention, filling them up at nearby water fountain stations will be a breeze. This way, you’ll have water with you anywhere you go!
Of course, there are other things that you can pack in your bag as well, but I found these 6 items to be the most important. You pack whatever you feel you need in order to conquer your day!
