According to an email on March 10 to students, faculty and staff from Board of Visitors Rector Christy Morton, “The Christopher Newport University Board of Visitors will receive public comments on the proposed tuition and mandatory fee range for the 2025-26 academic year. The proposed range is zero to 4.2%.”
The hearing will take place next Monday, March 17 in room 202 of the Freeman Center from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Speaking opportunities are first come, first serve and can either be registered for via a form distributed to the CNU community (within the email) or in person from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Speakers are allotted three minutes for their comments on the proposed budget, but there is potential for this time to be shortened due to the number of possible speakers.
The email also stated that “Speakers wishing to have their comments entered into the public record must bring a printed copy of their remarks.”
People who wish to send in written comments will have until tomorrow, March 14, at noon via the link embedded in the email or mailed to Secretary to the Board of Visitors Amie Dale.
