Welcome back to campus Captain’s! We hope you all had a great summer, whether you spent it working, vacationing, taking classes, studying abroad or just spending time at home. Christopher Newport University (CNU) has been hard at work the past few months gearing up for the new academic year.
For our incoming freshman, we wish you the best of luck. It can feel overwhelming at first, but soon this will be your home away from home. Don’t be afraid to try new things. Talk to the people around you, ask questions, utilize your resources and get involved.
There really is something here for everyone. If you haven’t done so yet, sign up to Captain’s Connect and join Raftr. There you will be able to explore clubs and organizations on campus, learn about upcoming events and find communities within the CNU community.
For our sophomores, gear up! This year you’ll dive further into your majors and officially sign into your departments.
Juniors and seniors, you’re in the home stretch. Make the most of your time here at CNU.
No matter where you’re at in your academic journey, there are resources on campus for you! The Office of Student Success and the Tutoring and Writing Centers are excellent tools to help you along.
Fall sports and theatre productions are upon us, be sure to check out CNU’s website for updates, or flip to the Sports section (Pages 4-5) and Arts & Entertainment section (Pages 8-9) of this newspaper to find relevant information.
The Captain’s Log is committed to providing the CNU community with accurate information that is reflective of our student body. If you are interested in writing, photography or media work in general, join us on Tuesdays at 7:30PM in the OSI conference room to get involved.
