Photo-beat: Aliya Perry
Introducing Aliya Perry! She is the new photo-beat reporter for The Captain’s Log (CLog) for the 2025 – 2026 academic year! She assists our snapshot editor, Amanda Eacho, with taking photos for the paper, as well as filling our newspaper with spectacular photos this year!
“Hello, my name is Aliya, and I am a sophomore here studying Psychology. My current role is the Photo Beat, as I have been a lover of photography for many years. I enjoy taking photos of nature. Whether I am taking photos of friends, or out on a trip, you will often see me with a camera in my hand. I love to write and have 4 years of experience being a part of a literary magazine, where I was previously an editor and publisher.”

A gallimaufry for the curious reader

“I am a junior majoring in English with a concentration in Literature. My column will cover a
medley of topics from general campus life to reflections and info blurbs on various subjects. As a
reflection on the liberal arts education here at CNU, I hope to add a unique section to the
Captain’s Log with these “tid bits” of information and thoughts from students. If you’re wanting
something out of the ordinary, “Odds and Ends” may have the story just for you.”
