Three months ago, in June, Taylor Frankie Paul, star of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” posted on her TikTok that she was “taking matters into [her]own hands” when it comes to finding love, and was planning to send a video in for her chance to be the next bachelorette.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, she announced on Alex Cooper’s famous podcast “Call Her Daddy” that she was officially asked by ABC to be the next lead on the new season of The Bachelorette.
The Bachelorette is an ABC original reality tv show where one single woman has the chance to meet a number of single and attractive men, all of whom are looking to be the guy she chooses to spend the rest of her life with. Throughout the episodes, the bachelorette chooses who stays for the next episode and who goes home, narrowing them down until she finds the one that captures her heart.
Typically, lead stars on both ABC’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are fan favorites from previous seasons who failed to find love. However, Taylor has no prior connection to the franchise and is instead starting her journey at the top as the bachelorette.
You may be asking, Who is Taylor Frankie Paul? Paul is a 31-year-old TikTok influencer, reality star, mom of three and the next bachelorette. Two of her children are with her ex-husband, Tate Paul, and the other with her ex-partner, Dakota Mortensen, who made several appearances in season one of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.”
Paul started her rise to fame by building her platform on TikTok in 2022, becoming the founder of #MomTok. #MomTok is composed of several mothers from the Moromon community in Utah who have been creating content together for years before the platform went viral. Together these mothers create content spanning from dancing trends to beauty routines and other content that challenges traditional Mormon norms.
Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” premiered in September 2024, following a TikTok video posted by Paul announcing her divorce and that she and her now ex-husband had participated in “soft swinging.” According to Paul, this arrangement between the couples on #MomTok allowed for romantic intimacy with other partners that stopped short of sex.
As you can see, Taylor is no stranger to love and drama. When asked how she was feeling about the upcoming season she responded that it was a surreal feeling. Taylor stated that it probably won’t feel real until the very first limo is pulling up.
On Cooper’s podcast, Paul confirmed that she will still be making many appearances on season 3 of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” set to be released in November 2025
Though she is excited for the season, she expressed many reservations to Cooper on her podcast about balancing the Bacheloretter, filming the new season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and being a parent. She fears she will not be able to travel and be away from her family for extended periods of time.
Taylor expresses that it wasn’t until fellow co-stars, Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, from #MomTok signed up for ABC’s Dancing With the Stars when she realized she could be a single mother and still be on a show like the Bachelorette.
Season 22 of ABC’s “The Bachelorette” will air sometime in the Winter of 2026, so make sure to stay updated and tune in for Taylor’s chance at finding love.
