Fatal shooting at school in Sweden
On Feb. 4, Sweden experienced its worst mass shooting in the nation’s history, resulting in the deaths of 10 people at the Risbergska school, an adult education centre, in Orebro. Included in the death toll was the suspected gunman, who as of right now had unclear motivations for the attack.
BBC News reported that Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stated in a press conference that “it is difficult to take the magnitude of what has happened today.” With several more injured, the death toll is anticipated to rise.
Earthquakes in Santorini
As of Feb. 4, thousands have been reported to be evacuating the Greek island of Santorini as numerous earthquakes take place. BBC News reported that approximately 9,000 people have already evacuated with more than 300 earthquakes taking place in less than 48 hours. One of the earthquakes, amongst the hundreds, reached a magnitude of 5.3.
