As we wrap up March, aka Women’s History Month, there are many ways to celebrate women and all of their accomplishments! One of those ways is through music. This song in particular talks about how she doesn’t need anyone to ‘give her a crown’ because she’s already a queen, she can take care of herself and reach her goals on her own. I’ll be listening to this in the gym for sure.
- God is a Woman by Ariana Grande
This song of course had to make the list…Ariana perfectly portrayed the beauty and significance of being a woman in this song and I can’t stop playing it on repeat. She perfectly captures what goddesses women are in one song.
- You Don’t Own Me by SAYGRACE & G-Eazy
I always love a song I can rage to when I need a moment of letting out frustration. This song is the perfect song to do just that to. No notes, 10/10.
- I’ve Had Enough by Melina KB
Speaking of good feminist rage songs, this is another good one! Whenever I’ve felt like I needed to let off some steam I immediately put this song on. It captures what it means to take back your voice.
- Woman Like Me by Little Mix & Nicki Minaj
This song symbolizes the risks of society pushing beauty standards on women and how we are expected to be what everyone else wants us to be. Little Mix shows how to break free from feeling the pressures and how to just live your life.
