Hayden Matthew Camden, 21, was charged with 20 warrants related to the production, possession and distribution of child pornography. He was sentenced to prison, Wednesday, Feb. 11, according to the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office.
The office received an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) CyberTip in January 2025 regarding a suspect in the Rockbridge County area involved in the illegal possession and distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
The Office of the Sheriff for Rockbridge County and Lexington City is an active member of the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Sheriff Tony McFaddin stated that these types of cases represent some of the most serious crimes the Rockbridge Sheriff’s Office investigates.
Our investigators, working alongside our ICAC partners, remain committed to identifying offenders, protecting children and holding those who exploit minors fully accountable,” he said. “We will continue to aggressively pursue individuals who prey on children in our community.”
Members of the Sheriff’s SWAT Team and Investigations Unit arrested the suspect in April. Deputies say an electronic communication device was seized from him. After retrieving a search warrant, authorities found several more electronic storage devices.
Camden entered a guilty plea in Rockbridge County Circuit Court. He was convicted of one count of the first offense possession of child pornography, four counts of the second or subsequent possession of child pornography, three counts of the first offense distribution of child pornography and two counts of the second or subsequent distribution of child pornography.
He was sentenced to 31 years in prison, with 20 years suspended and will be required to register on the Virginia Sex Offender Registry.
